The second unit of the new SW100X model is currently under construction for delivery to a passionate, experienced and second time Southern Wind owner.

True to the shipyard’s core values of reliability, comfort, and versatility, this yacht is conceived with a strong focus on performance. Developed for a seasoned owner-sailor, the brief called for a yacht which combines speed and responsiveness while sailing, with exceptional cruising comfort.

Exterior

To fulfill this ambitious brief, the SW100X-02 is being built in her Performance configuration, incorporating a comprehensive package of high performance technologies and systems:

  • Telescopic Keel: A variable draft (3.80 m to 5.75 m) for optimized performance and harbor access.
  • Enhanced Sail Plan: Includes a taller mast and an optional square-top mainsail system for maximum power.
  • Extended Performance Bowsprit: A fixed, longer design for improved downwind efficiency.
  • Titanium Deck Fittings: Selected for their weight-saving properties and durability.

A third pair of winches has been added to the aft cockpit, enhancing the yacht’s racing credentials and giving the crew additional control and sail-handling efficiency, without compromising the yachts refined cruising character.

Deck

The deck layout has been meticulously designed to find the  “Perfect Balance” between a high-efficiency sailing cockpit and a “Seaside Lounge” that opens onto the water when at anchor. For long-distance sailing, the yacht features a spacious lazarette providing ample storage. On the foredeck, the tender is securely stowed on two removable stainless steel saddles.

Sail-handling and maneuvering functions are concentrated in the aft cockpit, providing direct access to the crew quarters, navigation station and galley. Transverse jib tracks and four winches located at the mast base service halyards, tack lines and reefing.

In a move towards greater sustainability, synthetic wood decking is used to reduce weight and environmental impact.

Interior

Above deck, the new carbon “crossover” coach-roof, finished in striking dark non-skid coating, provides a 270° panoramic view from the light-filled saloon.

Below deck, the SW100X-02 features Southern Wind’s proven four cabin, en-suite layout, complemented by a versatile multi-purpose space that can be tailored as a TV lounge or a private gym.

The generous aft crew quarters provide comfortable accommodation for up to four crew in two cabins and include a spacious galley, crew mess and dedicated nav station.

Built in full compliance with RINA Charter Class Certification, the SW100X-02 is scheduled for delivery in September 2027.
