SW108#02 KIBOKO 4 is the second unit in the successful SW108 Smart Custom project. She marks the fourth yacht Southern Wind has built for her owner and represents the culmination of his extensive sailing experience aboard her three predecessors.
With exterior and interior design by Nauta Design and naval architecture by Farr Yacht Design, the design priorities for KIBOKO 4 focused on weight optimization, performance, and aesthetics.
The yacht features an increased sail plan, a lifting keel (4.0-6.2m), and a twin rudder configuration, all contributing to her exceptional speed and agility. A full carbon hull, deck, and bulkheads, combined with a high-modulus carbon mast and boom, carbon rigging, and titanium deck fittings, result in a light displacement of just 76 tons.
SW108#02 boasts an exterior design that embodies the hallmark elements of the GT look, with a deck layout that is both fresh and immediately recognizable for its clean, understated geometry. Her dark hull and mast, paired with a light grey superstructure, enhance her dynamic and bold aesthetic.
A standout feature of SW108#02 is her innovative opening transom, which reveals a tender garage with space for a 5m (16’3”) dinghy. The optional magic transom transforms the aft section of the yacht into a beach club, offering an unparalleled experience at sea.
As a dedicated environment protectionist, her owner has embraced the idea of using an alternative to natural teak for the deck. This yacht features an innovative natural wood sourced from durable forests and showing all physical properties that the highly demanding marine environment is requiring.
The interior of SW108#02 features a 4-cabin layout: the owner’s cabin is located forward in the quietest area of the yacht, while three guest cabins are positioned amidship. This arrangement creates a spacious and inviting L-shaped social area forward of the saloon, comprising living and dining spaces as well as a TV lounge.
The owner’s brief called for a contemporary, functional, marine-inspired, style interior: fresh, warm, and welcoming. This vision is achieved through the use of bright light oak veneer paired with subtle touches of walnut.
The upholstery throughout the interior is crafted from artisanal, handwoven Mallorcan fabrics, reflecting the owner’s desire for a marine and summer atmosphere onboard and their strong connection to tradition.
